Message Body

I am still sorting out the landing technique in N70BD. We did a bunch of testing and really can support exactly what Austin said. It has a fairly high sink rate, kind of like a tri-pacer (it does have less wing area than a tri-pacer after all). However N70BD tends to sink much more pronounced (and suddenly) at about 60mph. If you are not aware of this it is a real surprise, because it seems to fall out of air. Especially if you are thinking it is going to land just like a cub or something, like I did. Problem easily solved by carrying a little power on landing just like Austin suggested. Still figuring out how much exactly but I would suggest about 1000rpm also.

Also the added control that gives on the rudder helps too, without it there is a moment of squirrelyness at touch down. Better to have it down and rolling straight on the runway before the rudder stops working.

Cary
