Oddly enough, the original drawings don't show
any beef up in the front door area. Only says
to saw out the longeron where you're going to put the door. Sam, Don obviously thought it needed some aditional beefing up. I thought it
was strange also. but it works. No one's plane
has ever bent in this area. Got to remember,
Jerry Bakeng was an engineer with Boeing. Who am
I to question? If I had designed the 747 mine would fly like a cement truck.
