It took a couple of thick pillows (from the couch in the FBO) to get this little guy above the cockpit's edge.
Sunset over the sea-blue haze of central Virginia. Quite an experience for an eleven year old (and a 38 year old).
On a visit to my old ultralight field I assisted in launching a hot air balloon (she did most of the work!).
...then photographed it in flight.

This local airport (W97) is normally dead quiet but occasionally has something really interesting going on. On one visit I had the opportunity to fly a twin otter up to the jump run. Another time I watched the flight tests for an unmanned helicopter called Vigilante. |
